Before I grow old
I shall dance in Bombay and
Chase the sun in Athens,
Greece.
Before I grow old
I shall savor dewdrops and
Live life as a prayer.
Before I grow old
I shall catch up with myself and
Give away everything I don’t need.
Before I grow old
I shall run through the woods naked and
Ride a white horse along Ireland’s green coast.
Before I grow old
I shall see eternity in a grain of sand and
Make friends with my immortality.
Before I grow old
I shall die again and again and
When I grow old I shall say,
“Yes, this is a job well done.”
